Short Term Rates
The Short Term Discount applies to your Homeowner's Title Policy. The following situations may entitle you to a Short Term Discount:
- An investor who has owned a property for less than 5 years
- A homeowner who has owned a property for less than 5 years
- A homeowner who has refinanced their property in the last 5 years
The rate of the discount is dependent on the individual Title Company's policy and can range from 20-30%.*
Hold Open Policy
Some Title Companies have a Hold Open Policy. With a Hold Open Policy the Seller would only pay the Homeowner's Title Policy rate of the amount that is the difference between what the Seller sold the property for and what they bought the property for. Normally you would pay a rate dependent on the full purchase price.
